Three held in AL leader murder case

The three suspects held in connection with Monday’s murder of ward-level Awami League leader at Dubail in Gafargaon upazila have been shown arrested and sent to jail, police said.
 Mohor Uddin Mondal, 55, was vice president of ward-1 of Niguwari Union AL and resident of Makhalkaldair village in Gafargoan.
Police on Tuesday arrested the three persons identified as Khoka, 32, Rubel, 25, a college student and Sabuj, 26, of village Dubail, said Md Chand Miah, officer-in-charge of Pagla police station.
Later, they were shown arrested in the murder case field by the victim’s son Nazmul Haque Mondal on Wednesday.
They were produced before a Mymensingh court on Wednesday afternoon and sent to jail.
Mohor, a father of four children, was returning home on foot from nearby Gayeshgpur Bazaar at around 8 pm on Monday night and when he reached Dubail area, some three kilometers away from his home, 7 to 8 criminals injured him critically, said the OC.
