Spice prices lower than previous year, claims DSCC mayor

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Syed Khokon yesterday claimed the price of spices was comparatively tolerable ahead of ahead of Eid-ul-Azha than that of the previous year, reports UNB.

Even price of some essentials was much lower than last year, claimed the mayor after visiting spice shops at Kawran Bazar kitchen market. Syed Khokon also hoped that the price will not rise before the Eid.

"After inspecting the market, we observed that the price of few goods including onion and garlic were lower than last year. We have arranged joint monitoring teams to look over all the kitchen markets of both the city corporations," said the mayor.

This year spice market is certainly under control, he claimed.

"We are hanging the list of prices at each of the kitchen markets so that the prices remain under purchase limit before and after the Eid," he further said.
