4 pvt university students denied bail

A court yesterday rejected bail again for four private university students in two cases filed over vandalism and attacks on police during the student movement demanding road safety, reports UNB. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Pranab Kumar passed the order while the lawyers of the accused filed bail pleas in two separate cases filed under Badda and Bhatara Police Stations. The bail rejected students were Torikul Islam, Redwan Ahmed, Mashad Murtaza Ahad, and Azizul Karim Antar.

Earlier on August 9, bail was denied to 22 private university students and they were sent to jail after completing their 2-day remand in the cases.

The other accused in the cases were -Risalatun Ferdous, Rashedul Islam, Mushfikur Rahman, Iftekhar Ahmed, Reza Rifat Akhlakh, AHM Khalid Reza, Tariquk Islam, Nur Mohammad, Simanto Satkar, Iktidar Hossain, Zahidul Haque, Hasan, Foyez Ahmed Adnan, Saber Ahmed Ullas, Mehedi Hasan, Sihab Shahriar, Shakhawat Hossain, Aminul Ehsan Bayezid.

Tariqul Islam and Redwan Ahmed are accused in the case filed with Badda Police Station while Masad Mortuza Bin Ahad and Azizul Karim are accused in the case filed with Bhatara Police Station.
