Stocks witnessed flat yesterday with falling trend of most of the major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges despite higher transactions, reports BSS.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Tk 818.40 crore from Thursday’s Tk 703.93 crore and the daily trade also rose to 25.09 crore share from 19.65 crore share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of the DSE closed the day with 0.18 points up at 5,407.19. But, the blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES closed the day with 0.63 point down at 1,892.71 and with 9.88 points down at 1,235.98 respectively.
At DSE, out of the day’s 337 securities, prices of 95 securities closed higher against 209 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Shepherd, Fine Foods, Dutch Bangla, SIBL and Regent Textile. The major losing issues were Savar EFR, ACFL, Jute Spinning, DSSL and Dulamia Cotton.
BBS Cables topped the turnover list followed by SAIMAM Textile, Shepherd, Ifad autos and SIMTEX.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 5.83 points down at 16,624.55.
At the CSE, 247 issues traded while 86 closed higher against 143 closed lower when 1.38 crore shares worth Tk 46.51 crore changed hands.
