Kunming Airport improving punctuality rate

Over the past three years, since it went into operation in June 2012, Kunming Changshui International Airport has seen its passenger throughput constantly rise and its punctuality rate improve. In January, February, March, April and June of this year, Kunming Changshui International Airport ranked ?rst among domestic airports with a designed throughput of more than ten million passengers in terms of punctuality rate.

To improve its flight operation control and response to extreme weather, the Kunming Changshui International Air-port Operation and Management Committee joined hands with Hefei Feiyou Network Technology Co Ltd. in July 2014 to develope the “Yunnan Airport Ground Operations Management System (GOMS)”. Upon the system release on December 10, 2014, Kunming Changshui Airport became the first domestic airport to use information platforms for ? ight operation control.

Over the past three years, since Kunming Airport moved from Wujiaba to Changshui, it has seen rapid growth in ?ight traffic. In ?rst half this year, it has handled 18,074,800 passengers, representing a year-on-year increase of 20.1 percent the highest growth rate among domestic airports with a de-signed throughput of over ten million passengers. As of 2014, Kunming Airport has opened 275 routes, connecting 134 cities. Forty-four airlines operate out of Kunming Airport, of which five Kunming-based airlines boast fleets of more than 120 aircraft. An aviation network covering most domestic cities and major South and Southwest Asian cities.
