Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will announce their U-19 squad for the upcoming Under-19 Asia Cup in the next week before the Eid vacation.

The eight-team tournament for the youth will be hosted by Bangladesh will be staged in two hosts cities-Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar in between September 29 and October 7.    

Newly-minted Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team is now playing a string of practice matches against the senior team of the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP) team as a part of their practice.

The first match of the three-match series played at the home-ground of BKSP Team in Savar yesterday.

The second and third encounters of the practice match series will be staged on August 10 and 11 respectively.

Last month the youth team played a three-match practice series against BCB-High Performance (HP) Unit at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium (SANS) in Khulna, whereby they won only a match against HP squad. They have been moving through an intense training programme ahead of their next international assignment, ACC Under-19 Asia Cup 2018 at home turf.

India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the hosts Bangladesh will take part in the meet.
