Due to unprofessional behavior with a producer, Television Program Producers Association of Bangladesh (TPPAB) banned model-actress Sarika Sabrin for six months.
The decision was taken at the executive meeting of the TPPAB on July 28 following the filing of a complaint by producer Burhan Khan to this effect. The ban has been effective from August 1.
According to the producer, Sarika was supposed to travel to Nepal on March 21 for attending shooting of a drama. And she took Tk 50,000 and an air ticket in advance for her job. But she didn’t reach the airport in due time and her phone was switched off. Later, the shooting unit left Dhaka for Nepal without Sarika.
After returning to Dhaka, producer Burhan Khan lodged a complaint against Sarika showing financial loss. TPPAB asked Sarika about the issue, but Sarika could not provide any legal answer.
As a result, Television Program Producers Association of Bangladesh banned Sarika from any sort of screen appearence for six months.
