BHOLA: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed yesterday hoped that the agitating students will leave the streets and return home as all of their demands have already been accepted by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reports BSS.

“All the demands placed by the students have been accepted by the Prime Minister and she is a very kind leader …We hope the students will go back home and they will not do anything jeopardizing the country’s reputation,” he said, addressing as the chief guest a special extended meeting of Sadar Upazila Awami League (AL) at his own residence at Gazipur road here.

Tofail ruled out any possibility of dialogue with BNP at the moment. “They are talking about dialogue now. The Prime Minister called them [BNP] (for talks) before the election on January 5 in 2014, but they did not come,” he added.

He cautioned that if BNP does not participate in the next general elections, the party will have to suffer more.

With Sadar Upazila AL President and Upazila Parishad Chairman M Mosharraf Hossain in the chair, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by district AL General Secretary and District Council Chairman Abdul Momin Tulu, Vice President Hamidul Haq Bahalul, Joint General Secretary Jahirul Islam Nakib, Organizing Secretary Mainul Hossen Biplob, Upazila Vice Chairman M Younus Hazi, city AL President Nazibullah Nazu and General Secretary Ali Newaz Polash.
