The government carried out a major reshuffle in the defence bureaucracy yesterday. Director General (DG) of Special Security Force (SSF) Major General Md Shafiqur Rahman has been promoted to the rank of Lt Gen and made the Chief of General Staff (CGS) while Additional Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Brigadier General Mujibur Rahman has been promoted to the rank of Major General and posted as the DG of SSF. Meanwhile, CGS Lt Gen Nazim Uddin Ahmed has been transferred as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC) in Mymensingh.

Commander of LOG area in Dhaka Cantonment Major General Hassan has been posted as GOC of the 56 Infantry Division in Rangpur while GOC of 56 Infantry Division Major General Nayeem Ashfaque has been transferred as commandant of School of Infantry & Tactics (SINT) in Sylhet.

Commandant of Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) Major General Enayet Ullah has been posted as commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) and Brigade Commander of 33 Infantry Division in Cumilla Brigadier General Nazrul has been made the Commandant LOG area by promoting him to the rank of Major General. Brigade Commander of 17 Infantry Division in Sylhet Brigadier General Shams has been made the GOC of 33 Infantry Division in Cumilla by promoting him to the rank of Major General.
