WI to tour Bangladesh in Nov for full series

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday announced the itinerary for the West Indies Cricket Team’s tour of Bangladesh 2018.

This will be the first full tour of the West Indies to Bangladesh after 2012.

The tour comprises of two Tests along with three-match ODIs and as many T20I series.

The Caribbean cricket team is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on November 15 and travel to Chattogram on the same day.

The visiting side will play a two-dayer practice match against BCB XI at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram on November 18-19 before heading into the main tour, which will be hosted by three cities-Chattogram-Dhaka-Sylhet.

The tour will be opened with Tests, the first Test of the two-Test series which will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city on November 22-26.

Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNS) will host the last Test along with the first two ODI matches and last two T20 fixtures. The second Test will be kicked off from November 30 to December 4.  

Before stepping into the ODI series, the tourists will play a 50-over practice match, which will be taken place either at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah or Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan (BKSP) in Savar on December 6.

The first two ODI matches will be held at the SBNCS on December 9 and 11 respectively, while the last T20 ties will be played on December 20 and 22 correspondingly.

This time the visitors will travel to Sylhet to play the last one-day and the T20 opener of the three-T20 encounters at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on December 14 and 17.
