Orientation programme held at BSMRAU
Gazipur: The orientation programme of Autumn Term 2018 of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) for the MS & PhD students was held at the university auditorium on Thursday, says a press release.
Prof Md Giashuddin Miah, Vice-Chancellor of the university, was the chief guest and Treasurer of the University Prof Tofayel Ahamedwas was the special guest and they were addressed the audience and welcome the newly admitted students. The programme was chaired by Director (Students Welfare) Prof Md Ruhul Amin.
The programme also addressed among others, by Dean, Graduate Studies Prof Dr Md Abul Hossain Molla, Proctor Dr Md Arifur Rahman Khan, Provost, Prof ImrulKayesh, Provost Noor ShailaSarmin. Directors, newly admitted students, faculty members and related officers-employees were present at that time.
JU buys seven microbuses to improve transport facilities
SAVAR: The Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have brought seven microbuses at cost of Tk one crore to improve transport facilities on the campus.
JU Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam inaugurated the new vehicles at a function at old registrar building on the campus on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, she said, “We have bought these vehicles to develop our transport facilities for the students and teachers.”
JU Treasurer Prof Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq, Acting Registrar Rahima Kaniz, Prof Ali Azam Talukder, and teachers, officers and employees of the university were present.
Haor and Char Institute to open at BAU
Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) is going to celebrate its 57 years of success and glory on July 22. University authorities take multiple steps to observe the day successfully. On this occasion, the green campus of the university is being well decorated with colorful spectrum. According to the university sources, President and Chancellor of the university Mohammad Abdul Hamid will inaugurate country’s 1st haor and char institute at 2pm on that day. Later, 57 years of success and glory will be celebrated at a large stage which is already set up at the Bangabandhu square of the university.
Discussion, technology fair and inauguration of the haor and char institute will be in first part of the ceremony. Alumni rally, alumni reception and cultural program will be in second part. About five thousand alumni of the university will take part in the programme.
Proctor of the university Prof Dr Atiqur Rahman Khokon said the university administration is giving more importance in the security system. They already discussed about security with several important departments, including Mymensigh district administration, law enforcement agency.
5th career fest begins at RU
Rajshahi: The two-day career fest organised by Rajshahi University Career Club (RUCC) for the 5th time began on the campus on Wednesday.
The fest was inaugurated through a colorful rally after parading main streets of the campus that ended at in front of the Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium.
Founding Adviser of RUCC Prof Sadequl Arefin Matin, Prof Mominul Islam and members of the club were present there. On the second day of the fest, a Carrier seminar will be held at Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium of the university. The new committee of the club be declared and crest giving ceremony will also be held at the program.
