KUET admission processes begins Oct 1
KHULNA: The online registration for undergraduate admission for the first year BSc Engineering and Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (BURP) courses under academic session 2015-16 of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) will begin from October 1 and continue till October 11. The decision was taken at a general meeting of the university’s admission test committee at the VC’s conference room on Monday. KUET Vice Chancellor Muhammed Alamgir Hossain presided over the meeting, said a KUET press release on Sunday. Among others, dean of various departments, heads of different department and registrar, were present on the occasion. According to the press release, the admission seekers will have to submit their applications through online during the aforesaid period and pay their admission fees through mobile banking by October 12. The admission test is scheduled to be held on November 6 from 9.30 am to 12 pm on the KUET campus. List of illegible admission seekers will be published on October 27. A total of 875 students will be admitted in 11 departments under BSc Engineering and BURP courses. The departments are Computer Engineering (CE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE), Leather Engineering (LE), Textile Engineering (TE), Building Engineering and Construction Management (BECM), Bio-Medical Engineering (BME) and Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (BURP). The admission seekers are asked to visit (admission+AEA-kuet.ac.bd) or to communicate admission section of registrar office (PABX +880-41-769468 Extn: 138, 158, 189) for detailed information.

SEU Fall Semester to start Sept 30

Fall Semester at Southeast University (SEU) will start from September 30 instead of September 15, A SEU press release said on Saturday. Orientation programme for the newly enrolled students of the semester will be held at the permanent campus on October 3 at 11am instead of September 17.

Int’l seminar begins at IU today

KUSHTIA: The Applied Nutrition and Food Technology Department of Islamic University in collaboration with Nagasaki University, Japan will hold a seminar titled ‘Role of Microbial Proteases in their own metabolism and host infection’ at the university central auditorium today. Vice chancellor of the university Abdul Hakim Sarker will be the chief guest while pro-vice chancellor M Shahinoor Rahman, Dean of Applied Science and Technology Kamal Uddin will be the special guests. Takayuki K Nemoto and Yuko Ohara Nemoto, teachers of Oral Molecular Biology Department of Nagasaki University in Japan, will present keynote papers at the seminar.  Chairman of the Applied Nutrition and Food Technology Department M Samad said students will be able to know how they recover from the infection of Microbial Proteases and will be benefited from the seminar.
