Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre organised an evening of Gujarati folk dance by a team from Jamnagar of Gujarat, also known as Police Raas Mandal, on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Segun Bagicha of the capital on Sunday.  The team gave a brilliant and colourful performance showcasing various forms of Raas and Garba dances from the Saurastra region of Gujarat. The team performed seven items, namely Group Raas, Dandiya Raas, Tippani Raas, Ancient Raas, Sword Raas, Group Raas and Gunthan (Athango). These are traditional dances performed during festivals in Gujarat. The 12-member group from Gujarat was also mesmerised by the warmth and affection of the wonderful people of Bangladesh.
