‘Int’l Art Biennial Cox’s Bazar 2015’ ends

The four-day long ‘International Art Biennial Cox’s Bazar 2015 that started on September 10, concluded yesterday at the Cox’s Bazar Institute and Public Library. The free four-day art festival included solo projects, curetted exhibitions of photography, photo montage, oriental art, painting, drawing, calligraphy, paper collage, print making, installation, an ambitious children art project, a talk series, performances, experimental film screenings, and presentations by local galleries.
The last day of the festival started with the screening of a documentary on S M Sultan by eminent director Tareque Masud. Closing ceremony speech on “Sultan and his Thoughts on Decolonization of Art” was given by Syed Nizar Alam.
The biennale closed with fire spinning by Kiamoul Haque Sam & Team.  
International Art Biennale Cox’s Bazar 2015 presented a panoramic survey of artists from Bangladesh, India and Korea. Mustafa Zaman, Razib Datta, Bipasha Hayat, Afsana Sharmin Zhuma, Ashim Halder Sagor, Heylog Lee, Kaiser Ahamed, Yasmin Jahan Nupur , Kabir Ahamed Masum Chisty, Mumit Mahabub, Nirvair Singh Rai, Kaisar Ahamed, Syeed Sumon  presented major projects alongside some of the most exciting emerging names from the region.
International Art Biennale Cox’s Bazar 2015 is the platform for International art and was an initiative of a group of artists, curator, university teachers and writers. It is a non-profit organization which collaborated with the participation of 54 artists, critique and media expert from all over Bangladesh and abroad. From the very beginning, it has been working to construct an enlightened rational art scene for young art practitioners. The art biennale was organised by Amirul Rajiv -Curator, Aranya Sharma-co- organizer, Sabyasachi Mistry- co organizer. l
