The High Court yesterday rejected a writ petition seeking directives for releasing Badal Farazi, who served 10 years in India's Tihar jail in a murder case, with observation that the government will take decision on the matter, reports UNB.

The two-member HC bench of Justice JBM Hasan and Justice Khairul Alam rejected the petition considering that the petition was not placed properly.

The court said as the government has brought him back, it will also decide about his release, and the court should not issue any directive in this regard.

On Tuesday, the court fixed Wednesday to pass an order after hearing a writ petition filed on July 8 seeking a directive to government over Farazi's release.
