Liton announces manifesto

Awami League nominated mayoral candidate AHM Khairuzzaman Liton unveiled election manifesto, promising to generate employment opportunities for one lakh unemployed people by creating garments industries and special economic zone, if he was elected in the upcoming mayoral election of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC).

He announced a 14-point election manifesto at a press conference at party’s city unit office yesterday afternoon. On behalf of Liton, Professor Abdul Khalek, former VC of Rajshahi University, read out the manifesto.  In the manifesto, Liton put emphasis on creating of employment and accelerating of education and healthcare services to build Rajshahi as a mega city. He committed to build Rajshahi as a prosperous, modern and developed city with enriching it with peace, harmony, education and culture. He also committed to

work for the development of women, elderly and people with disabilities. Language veterans Mosharraf Hossain Akunji, Abul Bashar and Abul Hossain, former vice- chancellor of Rajshahi University Professor Saidur Rahman Khan, Pro-vice chancellor of RU Professor Nurullah, RU teacher Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar Tapu and Awami League city unit Secretary Dablu Sarker, President of NAP, Rajshahi,  Mostafizur Rahman, President of Workers Party of Bangladesh of Rajshahi city unit Liakot Ali were present.
