Japan imported from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 19.149 million barrels of crude oil in May, 2018, official WAM reported on Saturday citing data released by Japanese Agency of Energy and Natural Resource in Tokyo, reports Xinhua from Dubai.
Japanese oil imports from the UAE accounted for 20.7 per cent of its total crude imports, which reached 92.401 million barrels in the month, according to the report.
Earlier in February this year, the UAE’s government-controlled Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, known as ADNOC, signed an agreement with Japan’s INPEX Corporation, awarding the company a 10 percent interest in Abu Dhabi’s offshore Lower Zakum concession in the Persian Gulf.
