14 years have passed since the murder of journalist Humayun Kabir Balu but the justice is yet to be ensured for the deceased and his family, reports UNB. Daily Janmabhumi editor Humayun Kabir Balu was murdered as some members of extremists group -PurboBanglar Communist Party hurled bomb and fired gunshots on him killing him on the spot at his office on June 27 in 2004. A day after the murder sub-inspector of Khulna Police Station filed a murder and explosive cases with Khulna Police station in this regard.

In the murder case all the accused were acquitted by the court as no witness or evidences were found during the investigation while the other explosive case was still under-trial in court since then. Like every year, Khulna Press Club, Khulna Journalist Union, Daily Janmabhumi and Daily Rajpath will hold discussion, doamahfil, offer Ziarot and pay rich tribute on the monument of martyrs at Press Club on Wednesday marking the death anniversary of Humayun Kabir.
