Ctg recreation spots still abuzz with visitors

The amusements parks and recreational sports of the port city and its adjoining areas have been witnessing huge rush from the last three days to enjoy the Eid-ul-Fitr.

Hundreds of the enthusiastic people from all walk of life and ages in festive mood were seen visiting the amusement parks and entertainment spots amid joy and enthusiasm making the spots overcrowded since the Eid day.

The people who live in the city and the adjacent Upazilas usually are thronged in city’s beautiful natural sights along with recreational parks to give extra shape of their Eid-holidays. Considering the crowed the amusement parks and the recreational spots launch special promotional offers, adding new rides to attract the visitors as well.

During the Eid Holidays, the families who live in Chittagong permanently thronged the recreational spots with their family members mainly at Foy’s Lake, Patenga beach, the Naval Academy area, Chittagong Zoo, Children's Parks at Agrabad, Kazir Dewri, Swadinata Park and Butterfly Park, and after the government holidays the people started returning to the city and they are also visiting the amusement parks and recreational spots.

Huge crowed was seen at Foy’s Lake Concord Amusement Park and at Chattogram Zoo.

The amusement park is a dry park with the usual theme park rides and attractions as well as boat rides on the lake, landscaping, restaurants, concerts with floating stages, scenic walking trails and many other fun activities for different age and taste. The Sea World Concord is a water theme park located at Foy’s Lake. Sea World is full of splash pools, water coaster rides, and all the usual features one would expect from a world class water theme park.

Jesmin Akhter, a visitor told The Independent, “Foy’s Lake is an exceptional place to spend holiday. It is place one can spend time within nature and hills. We came here with my whole family. Its package price is also reasonable.”

Bishwajit Ghosh, Deputy Manager Marketing of Concord Entertainment Co Ltd, said, “We have declared two special packages –one is at Tk400 including visiting Lake, water park and snacks chart in the afternoon and another is  at Tk800 including unlimited rides and lunch or dinar.”

He said though is some influenced of rough weather in the recent times, about 15,000 people visited the Concord amusement park and Sea World at Foy’s Lake in the last three-day while still huge rush is going on.

Chittagong Zoo, located adjacent to Foy’s Lake, this year added new animals including Zebra and tigers. It also has great attraction to holidaymakers.

“In the last three-day over 50,000 people visited Chattogram Zoo while in regular time in an average daily 2,000-3,000 people visit the Zoo. Still huge rush is going on. We have decorated the Zoo along space for kids playing. We have also added some new animals including Zebra that is attracted the visitors mostly,” said Dr Mohammad Shahadat Hossain Shuvo, veterinary surgeon of Chattogram Zoo.

Mini Bangladesh which is known as Swadinata Park is also great attraction, it has only revolving restaurant, all the import historical structure’s replica including Ahsan manjil, Karjon Hall, Jatiyo Sangsad Bhaban, and Supreme Court etc.
