Four people were killed in road accidents in Jamalpur and Mymensingh districts yesterday.
In Jamalpur, a man and a minor girl were killed while five others injured following a head-on collision between a truck and CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Jamalpur-Mymensingh highway in Chankanda area of the municipality yesterday morning.
One of deceased was identified as Mosharaf Hossain, 42, son of Mofazzal Hossain of Fulbaria Munshipara in the district town while another is an eight-year old girl.
Md Nasimul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said the accident took place in the area around 8:30 am, leaving seven injured.
Among the injured, two died on the way to the hospital.
In Mymensingh, two people were killed when a truck hit a number of stationed human haulers at Bypass intersection in the city yesterday. The deceased were identified as Saiful Islam, 40, a police constable and Abul Hashem, 25.
Atiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station, said the accident took place around 7 am when a truck hit four stationary human haulers in the area, leaving nine people injured.
The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where two of them died after admission.
