Fabio Lopez became the 16th Bangladesh national football team foreign coach when the Italian signed on a four-month agreement with the Bangladesh Football Federation BFF) yesterday. Fabio Lopez, along with his two other compatriots, Costantino Zuccarini, assistant coach, Angelo Pavia, fitness coach, will work together along with the German goalkeeper coach Christian Schweichler.
According to the agreement with Lopez and the assistant coach and the fitness coach will up to January 9 up to the end of the SAFF football, was scheduled to be held from December 31. Lopez signed yesterday following the departure of Dutch coach Lodewijk De Kruif on same day early in the morning, who joined as Bangladesh national coach in 2013 and worked as head coach for different tenures.
However, the assistant coach and the fitness coach will arrive on September 13, two days before starting the national team’s practice, after their joining the national team will get four-man full foreign coaching staff. Tabith Awal, vice-president and the member of the national team committee, detailed all in a press conference yesterday when Lopez was also present and talked to the media.
Lopez, who thinks communication with the players are very important to improve a team and he believes he will be able to do this. “Communication with the players is very important, I am sure I will be able to make them to understand what I want to do. If can’t give my information to the play they could not learn.”
About his football philosophy, Lopez said, “My football ethics is to score goals, if the match going on 0-0, I will try to make 1-0, then more.”
