RANGPUR: Launching of a social movement, involving common people, with changed mindset can prevent and reduce corruption in further accelerating national development for building a developed Bangladesh, reports BSS.
The observation came at a meeting organised by Ward No-2 Community Policing Forum of Chandanpat union under Sadar upazila at Chandanpat Federation Office on Wednesday. RDRS Bangladesh extended cooperation in arranging the meeting formembers of the Community Policing Forum under its Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention (JRCP) Project with the assistance of German Development Cooperation (GIZ). The NGO has been implementing the project to reduce corruption in the project area under GIZ funding with assistance of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Sub-inspector of Kotwali Thana Muhibbul Islam attended the meeting as the chief guest with President of Ward No-2 Community Policing Forum of Chandanpat union Dr Shafikul Islam in the chair. Convener of the Community Policing Forum of Chandanpat union Abdul Wahab Mian, Advisers of the Ward No-2 Community Policing Forum Keramat Ali, Moshiar Rahman and Kamruzzaman Bakul addressed as the special guests.
Upazila Manager of the JRCP Project of RDRS Bangladesh Tahmina Akhter discussed on the anti-corruption and community policing activities and draft annual action plan on anti-corruption activities to be conducted in Sadar upazila this year. Field Facilitator of the JRCP Project of RDRS Bangladesh Azim Ali moderated the meeting participated by members of the Community Policing Forum, civil society members and local community leaders.
