A police constable and a boy sustained stab injuries as a gang of muggers attacked them in Saidabad area of the city early yesterday, reports UNB. The bandits also snatched valuables from them. The injured were Mobarok Hossain, a traffic police constable, and Rashed, 21, a student of Dhaka College. Mozammel Haque, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost, said the gang of muggers attacked Mobarak, while he along with his wife was walking under the Saidabad Bridge around 5:45 am. The muggers stabbed Mobarok and snatched Tk5,000, mobile phone set and gold ornaments of his wife. After a few moments, the snatchers also attacked Rashed while he was going through the area. The muggers snatched his money bag and mobile phone set. Mobarak was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while Rashed took first aid as his injury was not serious.
