3 Ansarullah men held over killing two bloggers

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three persons, including the acting chief of banned Islamist outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) for their suspected involvement with the murder of two bloggers. The arrestees were identified as detained ABT chief Maolona Jasimuddin Rahmani’s younger brother, who is also the acting chief of the militant group Abul Basar, and Media Branch members Zulhash Biswas and Jafran al Hasan alias Justice, son of Naogaon district Krishak League joint secretary.
RAB Legal and Media Wing Deputy Director Major Rumman Mahmud said a team of RAB members picked them up from Fakirapul area  around 5 am yesterday. Acting on the information provided by three other arrestees, we conducted the drive and arrested them, he added.
According to Major Rumman, both Zulhash Biswas and Jafran al Hasan alias Justice were assigned to take the responsibilities of any killings committed by the ABT.
They were claiming the responsibilities in different name in various social networking sites, the second-in- command of RAB legal and media said.
As their names were published in different media, the militants were planning to secretly leave Bangladesh. But due to the surveillances of the elite force, they were arrested around 5pm. During the primary interrogation, the three ABT members admitted that militants Ramzan and Nayeem directly took part in the killings of blogger Avijit Roy and Ananta Bijoy Das.
