Trader killed, 10 injured

A trader died of heart attack during a fire incident at Baburhat Bazar in Shekherchar area of the district town yesterday night, reports UNB.
At least 10 people were also injured and 40 shops gutted in the incident.
Locals said the fire originated at a cloth store in the market around 8pm. The fire soon engulfed the adjoining shops.
On information, four fire-fighting units from Narsingdi, Madhabdi, Ghorashal and Bhairab Fire stations rushed in and brought the fire under control after one hour of efforts. Two of the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital for treatment.
Trader Asad Ali, 55, suffered cardiac arrest during the fire incident. Later, he died on the way to hospital.
Fire Service officials said the fire might have originated from an electric short circuit.
