The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday announced a 15-member women’s team for the ACC Women’s Asia Cup T20 2018.
The tournament will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June 3-10. The Bangladesh team will depart for Kuala Lumpur on tomorrow (Friday).
Bangladesh called up experienced batter Ayesha Rahman and pacer Lily Rani Das for the series, after the team’s disastrous performance in the South Africa in which they lost all of the matches in ODI and T20 format.
Ayesha played 21 T20 matches, last of which she played in last Asia Cup in 2016. She scored 262 runs at an average of 12.47.
After the Asia Cup, Bangladesh will visit Ireland after which they will play the World Cup T20 in Qualification round in Netherlands from July 7-14. The women’s World T20 will be held in West Indies in November.
