At least three people were killed and two others injured in a landslide at Boroitali Manjoypara in Naikkhongchhari upazila of Bandarban district yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Shona Meher, Abu Ahmed and Jashim Uddin while the injured was identified as Abdul Hakim and Nur Mohammad.

Assistant Director of Bandarban Fire Service Iqbal Hossain told the UNB that a chunk of mud collapsed on the workers at around 11 am while they were cutting a hill, leaving three dead on the spot and two injured. The work was being done for making a way for rainwater drainage from the hill slope.

On information, firefighters from the nearby fire station rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. They also rescued the two injured people, Hakim and Nur. The injured were admitted to Cox's Bazar General Hospital where they were undergoing treatment.
