Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday hosted an iftar for war-wounded freedom fighters (FFs), orphans, physically-challenged children and alem-ulema (Islamic scholars) at her official residence Ganobhaban, reports UNB. The Prime Minister went round different tables set for the guests, exchanged pleasantries with them and enquired about their wellbeing. Later, Sheikh Hasina had iftar with orphan and disable children. Before the iftar, a munajat was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation. Senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mokarram National Mosque Mufti Mawlana Mizanur Rahman conducted the munajat.
Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs of the August 15massacre as well as martyrs of the War of Liberation and the long life and good health of the Prime Minister.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matiur Rahman, Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon and noted Alem and Imam of Sholakia Mawlana Farid Uddin Masud were, among others, present at the dias.
