For the first time in her musical career, audience-admired actress and singer Meher Afroz Shaon has lent her vocal to a song tuned by Indian Bengali singer-songwriter and composer Nachiketa Chakraborty.
The lyric of the song titled ‘Ilshe Guri’ is written by Zulfiqer Russell and the music arrangement has been done by Tunai Debasish Ganguly. The song is likely to be released soon after Eid-ul-Fitr.
Shaon confirmed that the production of a music video with the song will begin right after the Eid.
About Shaon’s singing, Nachiketa Chakraborty said over the phone, “Shaon sings very beautifully and she rendered this song amazingly. It really touched my heart.”
Shaon shared her experience of working with Nachiketa for the first time, “There is nothing new that I can add or comment on the music composition done by Nachiketa Chakraborty. The tune really grasped me when I heard it for the first time.”
“I feel honoured that Nachiketa Chakraborty has worked for my song. I am truly satisfied rendering the song”, she added.
“Nachiketa Chakraborty started reading the books of Humayun Ahmed since 2012 and from there, he became a fan of his literary works. His only regret is that if they had interacted earlier then they could have produced some beautiful works”, she further added.
To note, Shaon has recently lent her vocal to a song for ‘Paap Kahini’, a film directed by Shahriar Najim Joy. Apart from this, she also acted in a five-episode drama serial titled ‘Bottle Bhoot’ to be aired on Duronto TV during the upcoming Eid.
