United States Agency for International Development (USAID) administrator Mark Green is scheduled to arrive in the country tomorrow to visit several sites in Cox’s Bazar where Washington is providing humanitarian assistance to displaced Rohingyas and affected host communities. On Tuesday, he will make a ‘major announcement’ at the USAID funded WFP blanket supplementary feeding program facility at the Balukhali Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar, said a US embassy press release yesterday. While in Bangladesh, Green will also meet with the senior officials of the government.

From Bangladesh, he will travel to Myanmar to meet with civil-society representatives, students, and youth leaders, as well as government officials to discuss steps needed to address the crises in Rakhine State and violence in other areas of the country. The USAID chief will visit Bangkok from May 21 to 22 to meet with USAID mission directors from across Asia to discuss the implementation of the US president's Indo-Pacific strategy.
