Four indigenous people including the head of Tangkhang Para of Thanchi in the district were reportedly abducted by miscreants yesterday noon, reports UNB. The abductees are: Athui Mong Karbari, 55, head of Tangkhang Para, his wife Apruma Marma, 45, Paichha Pru, 60 and his wife. Chathui Marma, elder brother of Athui Mong, said Athui's son Mong Mong Marma, who used to work with the 'Arakan Army', fled away with Tk 8 lakh from the force. Chathui alleged that the four people were abducted in connection with the incident. Jalal Ahmed, second officer of Thanchi Police Station, said police and joint forces were working to rescue the kidnapped people.
