Mohammed Nasir Hossain slammed a hattrick and Rabbi Salehin struck twice, as Mohammedan Sporting Club grabbed a massive 7-2 vicotry over Sadharan Bima in the Green Delta Premier League Hockey yesterday.
Held at the Maulana Bhasha Hockey Stadium, in the day’s first match, Mohammedan, after a struggling 2-2 up to haf an hour mark, strongly bounced back in the second half and scored five goals to lift the big win.
In the day’s second match Wari Club defeated Wanderers Club by 4-2 at the same venue.
Mohammedan, who did not partcipate in the season’s warm up tournament Khaja Rahmatullah Club Cup Hockey, began their league campaign with a comfortable 4-0 win over Ajax Sporting Club and continued the winning spree with taking hold of the second win in a row.
Meanwhile, the key player of the team Russel Mahmud Jimy, though could not score any goal but played key role in the match when he led most of the attacks and also the archcitecht of the moves of scoring goals.
However, in the keenly contested first half, Mohammedan opened the net with the veteran forward Maksudul Alam Habul struck on seventh minute (1-0).
But the Bima did not tolerate the Mohammedan’s lead more than a minute, as they equalised the margin on eighth minute with demonstrating very impressive performance to tip-off a competitive encounter making challenge to mighty opponents.
Gishal Singh, who scored twice to bring Bima in contention, scored the first one on eighth minute to make the tally 1-1 and Mohammedan took only four minutes to regain the lead when Rabbi Salehin scored his first one on 12th minute (2-1).
Bima again levelled the margin on 28th minute when Gishal Singh scored his second on 28th minute and this time also Mohamemdan did not take much time to recapture the lead when Ajit Kumar Ghosh sounded the board right on 30th minute (3-2).
Mohammedan made a fresh start in the second half with Rabbi Salehin struck his second and the fourth for the team on 47th minute (4-2).
Mohammed Nasir Hossain, who came in action lately opened his account on 51st minute and added another two goals in a row on 57th and 61st minute to complete his hattrick and to give the Black and White a massive 7-2 margin win.
Wari Club tasted their first win when they defeated Wanderers by 4-2 with Belal Hossian, Nazim Uddin Samir Roy and Ashik Mahmud scoring one each for the winners when Mustafizur Rahman reduced two goals for Wanderers.
