Four schools make room in last eight

Four school teams have secured their spots in the quarter final rounds of the ‘Clear Men Bangladesh Under-17 Championship’ after the completion of three days of the national rounds, held in the capital.

In the race to become the best in the country BAF Shaheen College, Patenga High School, Bagerhat Bahumukhi Collegiate School and Sirajuddin Ahmed Model Academy have been qualified to move forward in quarterfinals in the competition, where other four contenders will qualify for the quarters in the last three days of the national round.

In the third day of the national round, eight teams faced off in five matches. In the first match of day, Dhaka divisional champions BAF Shaheen College overcame Khulna divisional runners-up Rupsa Bahumukhi High School by beating 3-0. Second match was dominated by the Chattagram divisional champions Patenga High School, when they beat Sylhet divisional runners-up Progoti High School 5-0. In the other matches of the day Sylhet divisional champions Sirajuddin Ahmed Model Academy shared a 1-1 draw with Mohammadpur Govt. High School, Khulna divisional champion Bagerhat Bahumukhi High School beat T.S.P Complex School by 1-0 and in the last match of the day Patenga High thrashed Rupsa Bahumukhi High School to win the match by 8-0.

Nearly 270 teams from the entire country have registered for the football tournament featured by Clear Men. Bangladesh Football Federation will also nurture 26 footballers picked up from the tournament, for the long run.
