RANGPUR: Academicians and media personalities at a seminar yesterday called upon the students of mass communication and journalism to get ready for adapting to the time-befitting mass media at the present global perspectives, reports BSS.
"The present mass media around the world is playing a key role in the state, society and personal levels," said Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) while addressing the event as the chief guest.
The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of BRUR organised the seminar in observance of the World Press Freedom Day-2018.
With Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism Dr Nazrul Islam in the chair, its Assistant Prof Tabiur Rahman Prodhan delivered welcome speech in the seminar.
Founder Executive Director of the Journalism Training and Research Initiative Jamil Ahmed conducted the seminar as the main discussant. In his presentation, the main discussant said the young journalists should prepare them to adapt to the present world perspectives as well as time-befitting modern mass media.
He also highlighted some important aspects of the present time regarding journalism and global perspectives for the participating students and answered various questions asked by them.
The chief guest said the seminar would enrich knowledge of the participating students and assist them to adjust with mass media of the present time.
