Elias Sunny and Nadif Chowdhury are ready to seek clemency from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) over playing in the unauthorised T20 tournament in USA without obtaining NOC. They felt they didn’t do the right thing by not seeking the NOC. Those two players listed as the first class player of the board played in a tournament named Diversity Cup with the banned player Mohammad Ashraful though they denied that Ashraful influenced them to play there.
“The people of Bengali community there requested us to play the tournament. That’s why we took part but we couldn’t think this matter will be extended to thus far,” said Nadif Chowdhury. Nadif and Elias Sunny came to the BCB yesterday to take their BPL cheque.
The BCB however are supposed to send them a show-cause notice but Nadif claimed they don’t get the notice as of now. “We are ready to seek the clemency because we know we did a mistake. After getting the notice we’ll request the board to consider our matter.”
