The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Women and Children Affairs Ministry yesterday recommended recruiting women judges and magistrates for ensuring justice for the repressed, helpless and raped women, reports UNB.
The committee also suggested the ministry to take all-out masseurs so that those involved in the recent incidents of repression on women and children at different parts of country get stringent punishment. The parliamentary watchdog made the suggestions at its 16th meeting held at the Parliament Secretariat with its chairman Rebeka Momin in the chair, said a PID handout. It recommended monitoring the follow-up of the incidents of violence against women and taking subsequent steps. The committee also suggested making people aware about dowry and violence against women and children to combat these social menaces. The parliamentary body also stressed the need for ensuring the quality education for women to make them self-reliant and generating creative and new employment opportunities for them.
