Int’l confce on engineering geology ends at JU

A two-day international conference on ‘Geological Engineering and Geo-hazard and Development’ was concluded on Wednesday on the Jahangirnagar University (JU).

JU Geological Sciences department in association with International Association of Engineering Geology & Environment (IAEG) organised the conference at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium on the campus.

JU Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam addressed the second day of the conference as the chief guest. Addressing the function, she said “Such type of conference will create opportunity to exchange the knowledge of geology between the researchers and experts”. She urged to continue such conference in every year. Presided over by Chairman of JU Geological Sciences department Prof Mahfuzul Haque, Professor of DU Geological Sciences Dr Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed and Director of Bangladesh Geological Survey Department Dr Rishad Md Ekram Ali addressed the function as special guest. At the concluding day, teachers and researchers presented research paper in three session at the conference.
