Police in a drive arrested two fugitive convicts in an arms case from Kalikaprashad village in Rampal upazila of Bagerhat on Friday day night, reports UNB. The arrestees were identified as Ali Hossain, 32, son of Nur Mohammad Sheikh and Abbas Ijaradar, son of Nur Uddin Ijaradar, both residents of the village. Police said Ali and Abbas were sentenced to life term imprisonment in an arms case in absentia on June 4 last. Acting on secret information, a team of police conducted a drive at the village at night and arrested them, said Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Rampal Police Station. Meanwhile, police also arrested a fugitive convict of three months’ imprisonment in a case filed by his wife from Manik Nagar village of the upazila at night.
