6 injured in clash at Bangabandhu Safari Park

At least six persons were injured in a clash between two groups of visitors at Bangabandhu Safari Park at Bagherbazar in Gazipur on Friday afternoon. Among them, a visitor received bullet injuries while park authorities opened shot to take the situation under control. Of them, three were identified as Jashim Uddin,35, son of Abdur Rashid of Molaid village in Sreepur upazila, his cousin Dilshad,22 and nephew Tushar,20. Jasim was shot in the leg. According to the witnesses, 12 visitors came to Safari park from Tejgaon area of the capital to visit the park on Friday. At the same time, three youths of a family from Mulaid village of Sreepur also came to the park. At one stage, they locked into an altercation over a trifling matter that triggered a clash between them. Range office of Bangabandhu Safari Park Shibu Proshad opened fire three rounds of bullet to take the situation under control. While contracted, Shibu Proshad, an official of the park, said the situation went out of control during the clash. That is why “I opened three rounds of bullet to take the situation under control”.
