Photography exhibition by diplomatic community begins at Drik

Drik, in cooperation with Embassy of Germany in Bangladesh, has organised a ten-day exhibition titled ‘Bangladesh Through Our Eyes 2’, a photography exhibition by the diplomatic community in Bangladesh, at Drik Gallery in Dhanmondi of the capital.

The exhibition is curated by ASM Rezaur Rahman and participated by the members of the diplomatic community in Bangladesh.

The inaugural ceremony of the festival was held yesterday on the gallery premises.

Earlier, a special preview of the photography exhibition followed by award ceremony was held at the German Embassy on April 8, where Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali was present as the chief guest, Ambassador of the Germany Dr Thomas Prinz delivered the welcome speech and Managing Director of Drik Shahidul Alam was the judge for this photography contest and exhibition.

At the preview exhibition, Hon’ble Mention Award winners were Sidsel Bleken, Ambassador of the Royal Norwegian Embassy and Laurent Umans, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. They received certificates and collections of coffee table photo books on Bangladesh.

The third prize went to Lisa Lerch, Vice-Consul and 3rd Secretary at the Embassy of Switzerland. She received certificates and an excellent compact camera.

The second prize went to Liam Costello, Forest Inventory Assistant from FAO, who is in Australia now. He received certificate and a DSLR Camera kit.

Finally, the Grand Prize went to Tor Andreas Torhaug. He is the spouse of the Ambassador of Royal Norwegian Embassy. He received certificate and a Dhaka-Europe-Dhaka air ticket.

The exhibition is open to all every day from 3pm to 8pm, until April 25.
