To welcome the Bangla New Year 1425 as well as celebrating its silver jubilee, Surer Dhara, a leading cultural organisation in the country, is arranging a four-day programme from April 11 to 14. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the event and unveil the cover of Shruti Geetabitan on April 11 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital.
The event from April 11 to 13 will feature group and solo musical performance, recitation, dance, dance, drama, seminar, speech, discussion and screening of the documentary. As a part of the four-day event, Surer Dhara will celebrate the Chaitra Sangkranti—the last day of the Bangla year—on April 13.
On the other hand, Bangla New Year 1425 will be welcomed through a grand celebration titled ‘Hajaro Konthe Borshoboron’ (musical performance by hundreds of singers) on Pahela Baishakh—the first day of Bangla New Year—on April 14. The event will also include music, drama and discussion with the participation of veterans from Bangladesh and India.
To disclose detailed information about the four-day event, Channel i and Surer Dhara have jointly held a press conference yesterday at the office of Channel i in the capital. Channel i director and head of news Shykh Seraj, chairman of Surer Dhara Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya and Professor Shafi Ahmed, among others, were present at the press meet.
