Stocks witnessed upward trends yesterday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges rose up on higher transactions, reports BSS.
The daily turnover in volume increased to 20.94 crore shares from Sunday’s 19.08 crore shares and the day’s trade value rose to Tk 691.52 crore from Tk 622.06 crore of the previous session of the week.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 14.03 points up at 5,879.42. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 8.62 points down at 2,207.61 and with 3.87 points down at 1,363.03.
At DSE, out of the day’s 334 traded issues, prices of 149 securities closed higher against 143 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were CENTRALPHL, Anlima Yarn, AFC Agro, Peninsula Chittagong and Zaheen Spinning. The major losing companies were RENWICKJA, Rupali Life, RECKITTBEN, Aziz Pipes and Style Craft.
Beximco Limited topped the turnover list followed by BRAC Bank, Ifad Autos, UPGDCL and Fortune Shoes.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 67.41 points up at 18,155.54. The trade value of the day was Tk 32.95 crore and the volume was 1.24 crore.
