KMP asks to remove banners, billboards by April 8

KHULNA: Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) authority on Thursday asked to the possible mayor, councilor and women councilor (reserved  seat) aspirants of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) to remove all types of  hanged banner and billboard from the city area by April 8, reports BSS.

The authority directed to follow nine election rules to make the upcoming  KCC election free, fair, peaceful and to ensure people's right to be casted  their own votes.

The election rules are to follow election rules and regulations for  campaigning ahead of KCC election, to remove all types of posters, wall  painting, billboard, pandel, gate with decoration, illumination and banners  and to ban distribution of leaflets, holding any meeting, rally and miking.

The KMP also requested to the KCC authority to help for making election  rules successful, saying that KMP will be given support to the KCC to clean  it by today midnight.

The decision was made in a views exchange meeting between KMP and mayor, councilor and women councilor aspirants held at the conference room of KMP headquarters with Commissioner Humayun Kabir in the chair.

Additional Police Commissioner Sardar Rokibul Islam, Deputy Commissioners Fazlur Rahman, Zahangir Hossain Molla and Abdullah Aref and Mayor aspirants AL leaders Talukder Abdul Kheleqe, advocate Saiful Islam, Sheikh Sayed Ali, Siddkur Rahman Bulu Biswas, BNP leader Anisur Rahman Biswas and Regional Election Officer Md Younus Ali spoke, among others.
