4 films of Impress Telefilm awarded in 9 categories

Four films produced by the country’s leading production house Impress Telefilm Limited have been awarded in nine categories of the National Film Award this year. The names of winning artistes and film professionals of the National Film Award 2016 in 26 categories were announced yesterday.

Impress Telefilm’s ‘Oggatonama’ (The Unnamed), directed by Tauquir Ahmed, won the best film award, while Shahiduzzaman Selim is the winner of the best villain award for the same film. Tauquir Ahmed won the award in the best story category and Faridur Reza Sagor won the award in the best producer category for the film.

Kusum Sikder won the best actress award for playing the lead role in ‘Shankhachil’ produced by Impress Telefilm. Anum Rahman Khan (Sajhbati) won the award of best child artiste, while Uttam Guha won the award in best art direction for this film.

Tania Ahmed got the award in the best supporting role category for the ‘Krishnapakkha’, while Meher Afroz Shaon won the best singer award (female) for this film. Singer Wakil Ahmed won the best singer (male) for the film ‘Darpan Bisarjan’.

Since 2004, Impress Telefilm won a total of 170 awards in different categories for producing films. To note, Farida Akter Babita and Akbar Hossein Pathan (Faruk) were given the lifetime achievement award this year. Eminent filmmaker Amitabh Reza Chowdhury has been awarded the best director award for his directorial debut ‘Aynabaji’, while Chanchal Chowdhury won the best actor award for the same film.  l
