Stocks ended the week yesterday upward with rising trend of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on higher transactions, reports BSS.
The daily average trade value at DSE was 69.17 per cent up at Tk 542.93 crore and the trade volume was 77.20 per cent up at 16.37 crore shares.
The broader DSEX of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 243.75 points higher at 5,841.19. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 41.89 points up at 1,356.54 and with 88.51 points up at 2,194.54 respectively.
Out of the 341 issues traded on the DSE, 294 gained against 33 losing issues.
The top five gainers of the week were Monno Jute Stafflers, Shasha Denims, Renwick Jajneswar and Co, Regent Textile Mills and Prime Islami Life Insurance.
The major losing issues of the week were Nitol Insurance, Vanguard AML Rupali Bank Balance Fund, the Central Insurance Company, Beach Hatchery and Zaheen Spinning.
The top five turnover leaders were Bangladesh Export Import Company, BRAC Bank, Ifad Autos, Lanka Bangla Finance and Unique Hotel and Resorts.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up with its major CASPI index ending 802.66 points higher at 18,017.77. Like the DSE, most of the issues traded here closed higher when both the trade value and volume of shares increased.
