Boy rescued 8 months after abduction

Police found a four-year-old boy at Natunpara in Barisal sadar upazila on Tuesday after eight months of his abduction from a village in Bogra. Police also identified the alleged kidnapper as Helal Khan alias Lal Chand, 17, hailing from Banaripa Mollahbari in Barisal. The victim has been identified as Saleh Ahmmed alias Talha, son of Sajedur Rahman of Akashetara village in Bogra sadar upazila. Police quoting family members said eight months ago Lal Chand came to the house of Talha introducing him as an orphan and has no place to stay. Talha’s father gave the boy shelter at his house. But, Lal Chand kidnapped Talha on February 10 this year and went Barisal. He kept the boy at his relative’s house in Natunpara area of Barisal town.  
Talha’s father filed a General Dairy (GD) with Bogra sadar police in this regard. Police said Sub-Inspector of Bogra sadar police Aslam Ali had a photo of Lal Chand which he took at the juvenile reform prison in Jessore, where the kidnapper was an inmate, and showed it to the victim’s family members.
The SI also came to knew that Lal Chand was sent to the juvenile reform prison in another case for murder after kidnapping. After questing Lal Chand confessed to abduction of Talha and keeping the boy at house at Natunpara in Barisal. The police rescued the boy from the house. A case was filed with sadar police station in this connection. Superintendent of Police Asaduzzaman briefed local journalists on the rescue of the kidnapped boy.
