Specialised physicians advised teachers, students and guardians not to worry over mass hysteria in schools, reports BSS. Nothing to worry over mass hysteria as there is any risk of death from this, experts said, adding that this disease could be cured with simple treatment. They said mass hysteria may break out because of extremely hot weather. The outbreak of the disease is recently being noticed more in the primaryschools in Gopalganj, Barisal, Meherpur, Bagerhat and some other areas of the country. Asked about the disease, Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) former Director Dr Mahmudur Rahman told BSS that this disease first brought out in Bangladesh in 2006. Young boys and girls are affected by this disease during hot weather and the girls are affected more than the boys, he added. Dr Rahman said all civil surgeons across the country work to prevent this disease by forming teams.
