DIU teams become champions in int’l competition
Daffodil International University ( DIU) Social Business team ‘PediCare’ became champion and ‘Deshi Collection’ team became runner-up in the 3rd International Business Plan Competition-2018 held in India from 14 to 16 March organised by International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICCCR and HRM), University of Jammu, India.
26 teams from different states of India and other SAARC countries took part in the final round of the competition and both DIU teams grabbed the 1st and 2nd position in the competition. Championship winning ‘PediCare’ team members are Raiyan Ferdous Shakil of Business Administration Department, Sobayer Abedin Amit of CSE Department and Humaira Rahman of Nutrition and Food Engineering Department.
Runner Up winning ‘Deshi Collection’ team members are Shazzad Khan Arnob, Shamsujjaman, Shourov Sarkar of CSE Department and Taharima Kabir Tonme, Mir Ishmam Hossain of Entrepreneurship Department.
Seminar on shipbuilding industry held at MIST
Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) yesterday organised a seminar titled 'Implementation of Classification Society (IACS) rules in Ship Construction in Bangladesh: Importance and Challenges' at its auditorium, at Mirpur Cantonment.
Additional Secretary of Ministry of Shipping, M Abdul Mannan was present as the chief guest while Chairman of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Commodore Mohammad Mozammel Haque and Director General of Shipping Department, Commodore Syed Ariful Islam were present.
Several professionals and representatives from different Dockyards, Shipyards and other organisations related to the Shipbuilding field attended the seminar and delivered their valuable speech on the implementation of Classification Society rules in this sector, said a press release.
