Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested five alleged 'Rohingya robbers' along with seven sharp weapons from Modhuchhara area in Ukhia upazila on Monday night, reports UNB. The arrestees were identified as Md Karim, 46, son of late Rafiq of BB zone 1-2 of Modhuchhara village, Md Amin, 26, son of late Habibullah of Modhuchhara, Kutupalong AA-B block, Md Shaker, 20, son of Nur Mohammad of Modhuchhara AA-B block, Md Rashid, 21, son of late Nur Alam of Kutupalong E-1 (New) village and Md Nur Islam, 26, son of Abu Bakkar of Naitongpara of Ukhia. Being informed that some robbers gathered for commits robbery in the area, a team of Rab-7, conducted a drive at the area around 9:05pm and arrested them along with seven sharp weapons, said a press release of the elite force.
In primary interrogation, the arrestees confess to the elite force that they had been involved with robbery at the area and snatched money and valuables from the locals, the release added. The arrested were handed over to Ukhia Police Station.
