RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is going to implement two major road and drain development projects with an estimated cost of around Taka 60 crore, reports BSS. The development works include 191-kilomter roads and 21.40-kilomter drains. The RCC authorities revealed this at a contract signing ceremony of the projects titled “Development of different important roads in Rajshahi City” in the City Bhaban conference hall here on Wednesday.
Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, and chairman of Rajshahi Development Authority Prof Bazlar Rahman addressed the ceremony as chief and special guests respectively with RCC Mayor Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul in the chair.
During their Power Point presentation, RCC Chief Engineer Ashraful Haque and Superintending Engineer Khandaker Khairul Bashar gave an overview of the projects to be implemented in all 30 wards.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Bulbul said the city corporation has adopted another scheme of Taka 160-crore four-lane road from Gourhanga crossing to airport and 19 natural pond conservation projects.
Lawmaker Badsha told the meeting that Rajshahi WASA will implement a Taka 33,000-crore water treatment plant project for improving water supply system in the metropolis.
